Let the good times roll this spring at Universal Orlando Resort’s 2015 Mardi Gras celebration – featuring 16 nights of thrilling concerts from some of the biggest names in music, coupled with the essence of the legendary Bayou bash.
On select nights Feb. 7 through April 18, guests will experience a family-friendly version of the “N’awlins”-inspired festival at Universal Studios Florida. Guests can top off their day in the theme parks with delicious Cajun cuisine, an awe-inspiring parade and a live concert.
This year’s exhilarating concert lineup features an array of talent with something for everyone to enjoy. Headliners include English pop sensation Jessie J, who’s known for her hits “Price Tag” and “Bang Bang,” “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson, who has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, and reggaeton superstar Yandel, who has had three songs reach the Top 10 Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart and a No. 1 album on the Top Latin Albums chart. Also performing is R&B artist Trey Songz, award-winning American country group The Band Perry, and the rock group American Authors, whose single “Best Day of My Life” was named the No.1 most played song in 2014 on Adult Pop Radio. Guests will also have the opportunity to catch handfuls of colorful beads during this year’s rockin’ parade. The 12 exquisitely detailed Mardi Gras floats were engineered by Blaine Kern Artists, the same company that has been hand-crafting floats for the iconic New Orleans celebration since 1947. Plus, guests can visit Universal Studios Florida’s very own French Quarter Courtyard to enjoy authentic Cajun cuisine including Gumbo and New Orleans’ infamous Beignets, prepared fresh and hot. Guests will also get a chance to see performances by bands pulled straight from Bourbon Street.

The “Sounds Like Summer” concert series returns to Epcot featuring tribute bands that will bring back the sounds of decades of summers gone by. Opening with Hotel California – a Salute to the Eagles, June’s lineup of bands will also “play” tribute to the timeless tunes of the Bee Gees and Bon Jovi. Sounds like Summer concerts are under the skies of the open-air America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase at Epcot. Let the good times roll at Mardi Gras 2010! Universal Studios Florida boasts the largest Mardi Gras celebration outside of New Orleans – complete with a live concert series that features a diversity of musical stars, colorful parades full of floats (plenty of beads will also be thrown around!), elaborately costumed characters and delectable “Big Easy” cuisine such as jambalaya and shrimp gumbo. Mardi Gras 2010 at Universal Studios will begin on Saturday, February 6, 2010, and runs every Saturday night through Saturday, April 17, 2010, with additional dates on Sunday, February 14, 2010, and Friday, April 9, 2010.
Topping the entertainment list for Mardi Gras 2010 are such musical superstars as KC and the Sunshine Band, Heart, Kool & the Gang, Blondie, country sensation Dierks Bentley, hip-hop artist Akon, “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin, Miranda Lambert, multi-platinum selling rock band 3 Doors Down, Beach Boys (No. 1 selling American band of all time), Sheryl Crow, Flo Rida and Chicago.
The centerpiece of Mardi Gras 2010 will be the parade featuring more than a dozen colorful floats that wind around the “French Quarter Courtyard” – a replica of New Orleans’ legendary French Quarter – the heart of Mardi Gras.
The Mardi Gras 2010 celebration would not be complete without the taste of traditional Cajun and Creole cuisine such as jambalaya, gumbo and beignets, which are sure to tempt the palate of Mardi Gras revelers. Along with delicious New Orleans-style cuisine, guests can enjoy flavorful drinks made famous in New Orleans.
Mardi Gras is included in park admission to Universal Studios. Admission to Universal Studios after 5 PM on Mardi Gras event dates is $49.99 plus tax. Live concerts in the Universal Studios Mardi Gras Concert Series begin at 8:30 PM.
